STEEL PROJECTS

Auckland City Council Civic Building

The Civic Quarter Mixed-use Precinct will result in the Civic Administration Building and its surrounding area transformed into new housing and commercial spaces. Asmuss supplied 400 tonnes of steel to this project.

APL Industrial Estate

This new 44,000 square metre plant is one of the country’s largest industrial builds. The plan changed 30 hectares of deferred industrial zone land and 26.7 hectares of rural zone land into industrial. Asmuss was engaged to supply multiple thousands of tonnes of steel beams and columns.

Lyttelton Port Rebuild

Lyttelton Port was extensively damaged during Canterbury earthquakes. Rebuild work started in mid-2016 and is expected to be completed in 2024. Asmuss supplied 8000 odd tonne of SSAW casings as well as line pipe for this project.

Coolstore – Wiri

This was a project to build both a new cold store as well as a new office and administration building. Asmuss was engaged to supply 600 tonnes of steel. The specification for this cool store required the steel to be Charpy tested to -30 ˚C, far exceeding parameters of traditional testing.

Army Bay Outfall Pipe

This Watercare project was part of the $31 million dollar upgrade and consisted of a two-kilometre wastewater pipeline driven beneath a north Auckland regional park into the Hauraki Gulf. The achievement was a Kiwi first and also set a world record. Asmuss was engaged to supply 980 tonne of 1219 mm SSAW linepipe.
